HPE Aruba targets retailers with IoT, edge computing launches

The 750 Series access points support aggregate tri-band data rates of up to 18.7 Gbps and can connect to a variety of IoT devices.

“Our flagship HPE Aruba Networking 750 Series Access Points go beyond the Wi-Fi standard and offer advanced Internet of Things capabilities,” Levine wrote. “They can connect to more IoT devices with double the number of connections to support BLE, Zigbee and USB port expansions. The access points themselves have extra power so data can be pre-processed and sent directly to local computers for near real-time AI output.”

Wi-Fi 7 hotspots also offer enhanced location capabilities for navigation, asset tracking and targeted marketing promotions based on the latest Wi-Fi location standards, Levine said.

On the management side, advanced User Experience Insights capabilities are part of HPE Aruba Networking Central.

“With support for a wide range of devices, including Zebra, and now 6GHz support, IT gets real-user visibility into performance issues that can impact customer interactions, such as inventory visibility and fulfillment,” Levine wrote. “Because IT can monitor what’s happening between the device, the network, and the application, the team can pinpoint where the problem is actually occurring and resolve issues much faster, even if the problem is with the device itself.”

With new recommendations from Networking Central, IT teams can better manage complex retail networks without on-site visits.
