Intel Arrow Lake Coming to a Gaming Laptop Near You

IN CES 2025Intel announced that Arrow Lake, the processor architecture underlying Intel Core Ultra 9 285Kapproaches gaming laptops.

Like their desktop counterparts, these laptops processors will include a special NPU (neural processing unit) that should significantly improve AI performance. However, like their desktop counterparts, most laptops with an Arrow Lake-HX or H processor will also have a dedicated GPU, which will allow the NPU to handle lighter background AI tasks such as battery management.

However, these Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors will be available in some models. best gaming computers next year or so. High-end processors will have up to 24 cores, with the Core Ultra 9 285HX having 8 performance cores and 16 efficiency cores. As with previous generations of Intel processors, performance cores will be reserved for heavier, more focused work, while efficiency cores will be focused on background tasks.

Unlike previous generations, the performance cores are single-threaded, just like their desktop counterparts. However, thanks to the IPC improvements that Intel was able to implement in this generation, the company claims that it doesn’t lose much in performance.

If you’re in the market for a gaming laptop with an Intel Core Ultra 200H or 200HX processor, you’ll start seeing them on store shelves over the next few months.
