Faced with weak revenue and other business woes, Intel hopes to streamline business operations and return to profitability. The company hopes to cut costs by 2025, and nothing is impossible – even Intel’s trade shows. This afternoon, Intel unexpectedly announced that it has begun notifying attendees of its Fall Innovation 2024 trade show that the event has been postponed. The innovation event, originally scheduled for September this year, is now scheduled to take place sometime in 2025.
The Innovation Show is Intel’s regular technology showcase for developers, customers and the public, and is a follow-up to the company’s legendary IDF show. In recent years, the show has been used to provide status updates from Intel’s fabs, introduce new client platforms, such as panther lakelaunch new products, etc.

respectively, in a Statement sent to PCMagthe company cited its current financial situation and said they “have to make some difficult decisions as we continue to adjust our cost structure and seek to evaluate how to rebuild a sustainable engine of process technology leadership.”
While Intel has yet to announce the full agenda for the now-postponed show, Innovation 2024 is expected to be the main showcase for Intel’s Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake client processors, both of which are set to launch this fall. Especially Arrow Lake, which is the leading product of Intel’s 20A process node and Intel’s first node to implement RibbonFET and PowerVia backside power supply, so its launch will be an important moment for the company. While the delay in innovation events won’t impact these launches, it means Intel won’t have the same stage or built-in audience it would have to host its own trade show. Never mind the lost opportunity for software developers, who are the show’s core audience.
According to official sources, the show has just been postponed. But given the lead time required to book the San Jose Convention Center and similar venues, it’s unclear whether Intel will be able to host a show before the second half of 2025, when we will be closer to “Innovation 2025” and thus “Innovation 2025”. 2024” becomes possible de facto cancellation.
Meanwhile, the company has announced that they will Lunar Lake will be launched at IFA in Germany in September. So this is still the next big trade show for Intel’s client chipsets.
