According to our report, Apple Internal testing of iOS 18.2.1 for iPhonean anonymous social media account with a proven track record of sharing iOS-related information, revealed the build number of the upcoming software update: 22C161.

The build number is now known and the update is now confirmed.

When anonymous accounts share build numbers for upcoming iOS versions, updates are usually released within a week. However, given that it’s the holidays, it may take longer for the update to be released. We continue to respect this account’s request that we not link to their social media posts.

iOS 18.2.1 is supposed to be a minor update that fixes bugs and/or addresses security vulnerabilities, but it’s unclear what specific issues it might address. We’re not aware of any serious, widespread bugs yet, but Apple has apparently discovered various bugs and/or security holes that it wants to patch before iOS 18.3.
