iPhone 17 Air starts its journey to mass production

Apple has long been rumored to be changing its smartphone lineup next year. The company is said to be iPhone 17 Air, Ultra-thin device There may only be one rear camera.

According to supply chain sources, the iPhone 17 Air has now entered the new product introduction (NPI) stage. This is the first step on the road to production, where Apple and its suppliers will need to work together to evaluate the feasibility of the design and the manufacturing methods needed to assemble the device.

They also need to ensure that the planned assembly method is practical. Therefore, minor design changes may still occur at this stage to align with manufacturing capabilities (and/or costs). NPI will then set up a small-scale test production line to ensure execution is as planned.

So it’s definitely early days in the iPhone 17 Air’s journey to reality, but things are moving towards its production, so it’s clear that Apple has effectively given up on next year’s Plus model. Let’s see if the Air sells better.
