Is The Switch 2 Going To Be Too Big?

How are we coping nine days into the Switch 2 year? It’s been an onslaught of leaks, rumors and noise as everyone clamors to know about the Nintendo console that’s about to be officially announced. Come on, Nintendo, this is Really time to say something.

Anyway, let’s cut through the noise for a second. Here at Nintendo Life, some of us have a big question – literally – about the Switch 2. We’ve been having a little debate around the office: will the Switch 2 be a bit too much big for a portable device?

While there are plenty of mockups, 3D prints and accessory makers out there showing off what is claimed to be (and likely is) Nintendo’s next console, its size has us wondering about our delicate, aging hands.

Dbrand, one of the first accessory makers to boldly show off (potential) renderings of a Switch successor, speaks that the console will be 270mm wide (200mm without Joy-Con), 116mm high and 14mm thick, with a 55mm high stand.

As you’d expect, it’s slightly larger than all current Switch models – the OLED, for example, measures 242 x 102 x 13.9mm. But it still comes in piece smaller than Steam Deck (298 x 117 x 49 mm). Fortunately, this is the case way smaller than that huge four-figure Acer.
