JBL’s Tour One M3 Has a New Audio Transmitter, Better ANC
JBL is one of the most well-known names in audio, and for good reason. If you’ve been looking for quality over-ear headphones, they have some solid options, and now the JBL Tour One M3 raises the bar even higher.
JBL has launched its latest headset, the Tour One M3. The main feature JBL is promoting here is the new JBL SMART Tx wireless audio transmitter. SMART Tx allows users to connect their headphones to any USB-C or analog audio source, including in-flight entertainment systems, PCs, tablets and TVs. This proprietary connection is expected to improve latency, stability and call quality. The transmitter also allows users to share audio with an unlimited number of Auracast-enabled devices.
The Tour ONE M3 headphones feature 40mm mica dome drivers that deliver deep bass, balanced mids and clear highs. They also support high-resolution Bluetooth streaming and lossless audio via USB-C connectivity.
JBL’s True Adaptive Noise Cancellation 2.0 uses an eight-microphone system to adjust external sounds on the fly, letting you tune out most distractions – we’ll have to see how this new system compares to JBL’s previous ANC systems, but in short, the previous version The True Adaptive Noise Cancellation has a four-microphone array, whereas we now have eight. This is an important distinction, but we have to see how important it really is. Ambient Awareness and TalkThru modes allow users to customize the amount of their surroundings they hear. The headset also features four microphones and uses adaptive beamforming technology to enable clear voice calls even in noisy environments. The M3 is Zoom certified via wired connection.
Other features include Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, SmartTalk with voice recognition for auto-pause and ambient noise, and JBL Headphones app integration for personalization, EQ, ANC and ambient sound control. In terms of battery life, the earphones can provide up to 70 hours of playback time, and a 5-minute charge can provide an additional 5 hours of playback time.
The JBL Tour One M3 will be available in black, mocha and blue and will be available on April 13, 2025 for $399.95. It should be available from JBL online store and third-party retailers.
