Leaker says Dimensity 9400+ AP is coming to power 2025 flagship phones
The Dimensity 9300 has a similar configuration, and when it powered the vivo X100 series last year, the lack of efficient cores didn’t affect the performance of the application processor. BBK units were so impressed that they used the Dimensity 9400 to power the vivo X200 series.
The Dimensity 9400+ may be designed to slightly undercut the clock speed lead that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite currently enjoys. Qualcomm’s chips are the fastest mobile chipsets ever built. For example, the Dimensity 9400 AP has a peak clock speed of 3.63 GHz, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite has a peak clock speed of 4.32 GHz. The Dimensity 9400+ may be clocked at 3.70 GHz, but the Snapdragon 8 Elite will still be the fastest AP available for smartphones.

Like the Dimensity 9400, the Snapdragon 8 Elite also eliminates the efficiency core. Qualcomm’s new flagship chipset consists of two Prime CPU cores clocked at 4.32 GHz and six Performance CPU cores clocked at 3.53 GHz.
According to reports from digital chat sites, the Dimensity 9400+ will be equipped with the Oppo Find X8 flagship series. The series will include three models of 6.3-inch, 6.6-inch and 6.8-inch monitors. The new flagship will be released in the first half of next year. MediaTek is the world’s largest designer of smartphone application processors and SoCs, followed by Qualcomm. Other big names in the industry include Samsung and Apple.
Despite its powerful Dimensity 9300 and Dimensity 9400 SoCs, MediaTek hasn’t gained much traction in the US. Part of the reason is that MediaTek is seen as a cheap chip maker and is not as well-known in the United States as Qualcomm and its Snapdragon series.
