Leakers clash over iPhone 17 camera layout
Two leakers, each with enough track records to give them some credibility, are clashing over the issue. iphone 17 Camera layout.
The first thing to say is iPhone 17 Pro Mods with a similar shape to Dynamic Island will have a horizontal layout, while the other party said that the design of the camera module is indeed changing, but the triangular arrangement remains…
Weibo users digital chat station A render of a camera module was released last week, with three lenses placed side by side inside a horizontal camera module strip with rounded ends. While this is just a visualization of the layout and not a leaked image of any kind, they say the iPhone 17 “has indeed been changed to this design.”
They released this rendering to illustrate:
They’ve previously leaked accurate news about the iPhone 16 Pro’s telephoto lens (previously only available on the iPhone 15 Pro Max) and a larger sensor for this year’s main camera.
but real time digitalwhose accurate leaks include Yellow iPhone 14 and Landscape front camera On this year’s iPad Air, there’s controversy over this.
My sources tell me that the appearance of the back has indeed changed, but the layout of the three cameras is still a triangle instead of the horizontal bar now being circulated online.
They did not provide any details about the nature of the changes.
9to5Mac’s Opinion
last time i noticed One aspect of the claimed horizontal layout doesn’t make sense to me:
We’ve seen other horizontal camera arrangements, with some reviewers pointing to Chinese brand Meizu as an early adopter, although in this case the lenses are arranged vertically rather than horizontally – which actually seems to make more sense to me because Most photos and videos are taken in landscape mode.
We generally want spatial video to be in a landscape format, so a vertical layout (positioning the cameras side by side when the phone is held horizontally) is more likely.
But the conflict illustrates the difficulty of using supply chain sources to predict Apple’s plans, and there are many reasons why they can be inaccurate.
Apple often tries out different ideas and may discuss them with different suppliers, such as discussing the possible manufacturing feasibility of a particular concept.
The Company may request samples of components from suppliers that may point in a particular direction, but will not subsequently order these samples for production.
Apple may even sometimes cover up planned moves with deliberate misinformation, with the goal of leaking information that suggests one thing when the real plans are something else entirely.
