This year, Lenovo will launch two new Android tablets with 12.7-inch displays with a resolution of 2944 x 1840 pixels and a 144Hz refresh rate. But one of them is a premium tablet, while the other is more of a mid-range device.
Lenovo Yoga Plus Tablet equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal memory. It goes on sale this month for $700. Lenovo Idea Tab Pro tablet will be available in April with prices starting at $350 and up and will be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
Lenovo is positioning the Yoga Tab Plus as its “first on-device AI tablet” thanks to a Qualcomm processor that features an NPU that delivers up to 20 TOPS AI performance… although Lenovo says some of its AI features still rely on cloud services . , for example, “Lenovo AI Note and AI Transcript for real-time voice communication from one language to another.”
But the Yoga Tab Plus also has a faster processor, faster memory, a brighter display, better sound system, and better Wi-Fi capabilities than the Idea Tab Pro.
Meanwhile, the Idea Tab Pro looks like a pretty decent option for a mid-range tablet. It has a fairly good processor, four speakers, and additional support for pen and keyboard accessories (both of which are included in the Yoga Tab Plus’ higher price).
I’d really like to see companies agree on whether “Pro” or “Plus” is an indicator of a better model – it’s a little confusing that both of these tablets have names that indicate they’re better than… something.
