Lenovo’s Latest Laptop Has a Rollable OLED Screen

But if you can’t beat them, join them. This is what Lenovo did with the Legion Go S. It is not a successor to the Legion Go S. Legion of Go– the company presented a prototype of Legion Go 2 with some minor improvements – but this is an alternative version that is available in two versions: Windows or SteamOS. This makes it the first licensed portable gaming console to run SteamOS. Unfortunately, there is no dual boot option; you’ll need to choose which operating system you want at checkout, although you can run third-party game stores on SteamOS, such as the Epic Games Store.

With SteamOS, you can use cloud saves to stop playing on your desktop or laptop and switch to Legion Go S without losing any progress. You can also stream games from your PC to your console if they are more graphically demanding (provided you have a good internet connection).

Apart from software, the Legion Go S variants share the same hardware. They are powered by AMD Ryzen Z2 Go or Ryzen Z1 Extreme processors, feature an 8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and Variable refresh rate 120 Hz. The screen is smaller and lower resolution than the original Legion Go, giving it better battery life, although a larger 55.5Whr battery also helps. It doesn’t come with removable controllers, although you can use the two USB-C ports to connect it to a desktop-style monitor, and there’s also a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The Legion Go S running Windows starts at $730 and goes on sale this month, although other configurations with new chipsets will arrive later in May, with prices starting at $600. The SteamOS version starts at $500 and will be released in May.

Monitor speakers with private sound

Lenovo has dozens of new CES products, but the latest thing I’m particularly excited about is the ThinkCentre M90a Pro Gen 6. all-in-one computer. It doesn’t sound all that exciting (all-in-one PCs are rare), but Lenovo has introduced a new technology into this machine called Lenovo Focus Sound. It’s almost like a film is placed over the display that delivers sound specifically for you: using a machine learning algorithm and a built-in camera, it ensures that only you can hear the sound from the monitor, so nearby colleagues won’t hear it. you’re secretly catching up Love Island.

It sounds weird – like someone is whispering in your ear – but it works! I stood right in front of the computer and listened to the demo video, and the people next to me couldn’t hear anything. I moved a little to the right and the sound disappeared. This seems useful for an office environment, but then again, headphones already exist. Still, the technology is very cool, even if it sounds a little alarming. The M90a Pro Gen 6 will go on sale this quarter, starting at $2,539.
