LG launches its own music streaming service and it’s free

In a surprising turn of events, LG declare This month it launched its own music streaming service. The new ad-supported audio streaming service, called LG Radio+, is available on LG smart TVs running webOS 6.0 and above.

LG Radio+ allows users who purchase an LG Smart TV to access a variety of podcasts and radio programs. LG has announced that its Radio+ music streaming service will eventually work with the LG ThinQ app to provide a more streamlined user experience, but that won’t happen until next year.

According to LG, the Radio+ app has “Intuitive interface with comprehensive channel list, popular audio channels presented on live page, and personalized selection of favorite channels”.

To make the service even more interesting, LG has partnered with global broadcast and audio provider Radioline. Currently only available in the US and South Korea, LG Radio+ offers a range of live radio stations and podcasts, including NPR, CNN Radio, Fox Radio or The Joe Rogan Experience in the US as well as popular local stations and podcasts in South Korea. Those interested can download the LG Radio+ app from the content store or app, or use the voice search feature on the LG Magic Remote. LG mentioned that the app allows users to search for their favorite audio content in a library that includes more than 14,500 channels in the United States and more than 440 channels in South Korea. button on the speaker, but that will also happen sometime in 2025.
