Luck Be a Landlord, the Roguelike That Inspired Balatro, Is Finally Coming to PS5, PS4

Good luck being a landlordThe roguelike arcade game, released for PC and mobile devices in 2023, is finally coming to consoles.

The indie game, created by developer TrampolineTales, will release on PS5 and PS4 on February 6, 2025.

If you’re not familiar, Luck Be a Landlord is a game where you have to spin a custom slot machine to win enough coins to pay your rent. The rental fee increases each time, but you can add symbols as well as passive items to the slot machine to increase the amount you can score with each spin.

Despite its very simple appearance, players and critics have praised the amazing depth of the different character and item combinations you can get. Finding this synergy and getting big payouts is the main part of winning.

Although the game revolves around a slot machine and contains elements of luck, there are no microtransactions or ways to play for real money.

This is one of the main sources of inspiration for your beloved Balatrowhich wasn’t intended to be a single-player roguelike until developer LocalThunk discovered Luck Be a Landlord.

This is one of the games we’ve been curious to try, so we’re glad to see it coming to consoles, and it’s not too far off either.
