Microsoft has released new firmware updates for four of its Surface computers. Patches available for now out of production (still supported) Surface Studio 2+, Surface Pro 9 with Intel processors, Surface Laptop Go 3, and Surface Laptop 4 with Intel processors.
Surface Studio 2+ has received patches for security vulnerabilities related to several Nvidia advisories, namely CVE-2024-0117, CVE-2024-0118, CVE-2024-0119, CVE-2024-0120, CVE-2024-0121 and CVE- 2024-0126. The update also fixes audio glitches and unexpected crashes when playing or recording.
The Intel-powered Surface Pro 9 receives the same audio patch, as well as unnamed security enhancements that “improve overall device security, protecting customers from potential threats.”
If you have a Surface Laptop Go 3, you’ll also get various built-in fixes that reduce the likelihood of system crashes and blue screens of death. Finally, the Surface Laptop 4 with Intel processors only received security patches.
