NetApp partners with Vultr Cloud Alliance for scalable AI solutions

NetApp has joined the Vultr Cloud Alliance, a collaboration of technology vendors focused on delivering adaptable AI cloud services.

The alliance leverages each member’s unique strengths to meet the growing demand for scalable and composable infrastructure for cloud and artificial intelligence workloads.

The integration of NetApp’s ONTAP platform with Vultr’s global data center network enables organizations to access enterprise-class data management capabilities and Vultr infrastructure. The portfolio is designed to support data-intensive industries such as financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and media by optimizing workflows for artificial intelligence model training, high-performance computing and research.

By championing a customizable approach to cloud infrastructure, the Vultr Cloud Alliance enables organizations to scale and integrate artificial intelligence and cloud operations without vendor lock-in. Alliance members include AMD, SQream, Qdrant, Console Connect and Run:ai, each providing discreet capabilities to address different business needs.

The partnership comes when companies face complex challenges in applying artificial intelligence, such as data management, security and compliance requirements. New Battlefield: Unleashing the Power of Artificial Intelligence Maturity through Multi-Model Artificial IntelligenceA recent report commissioned by S&P Global Market Intelligence and published by Vultr noted that cost-effectiveness (29.0%), flexible pricing (24.8%), and security and compliance (35.3%) are factors when choosing a cloud platform for AI deployment important factors.

Key features of this collaboration include:

  • Data protection and compliance: NetApp ONTAP provides built-in encryption, compliance tools, and automated backup capabilities.
  • Cost-effective scalability: Vultr’s infrastructure is combined with NetApp’s storage solutions, reducing reliance on local resources.
  • Hybrid multi-cloud flexibility: The partnership supports hybrid and multi-cloud environments, enabling organizations to avoid vendor lock-in and customize deployments.

Supporting different use cases across departments is the goal of these capabilities. For example, financial services companies can automate tasks such as document review and contract generation. Healthcare providers can streamline the production and transcription of clinical reports. Retail companies can optimize their delivery, inventory and forecasting workflows.

“This collaboration helps enterprises that meet the most stringent security, compliance and performance requirements realize AI-driven innovation,” said JJ Kardwell, CEO of Vultr. “By combining NetApp’s industry-leading data management capabilities with Vultr Integrated with our high-performance global cloud infrastructure, we enable enterprises to harness the power of AI while maintaining control of their data assets.”

This partnership provides multiple benefits such as:

  • Simplify hybrid cloud storage and data management with NetApp ONTAP across Vultr’s 32 global locations.
  • Provide artificial intelligence and machine learning support through Vultr’s cloud GPU products and NetApp storage.
  • Automatic data tiering to improve cost efficiency.
  • Fast data migration and synchronization.
  • Compliance tools for regulated industries.

Riccardo Di Blasio, NetApp’s senior vice president of North American sales, highlighted the partnership’s role in connecting artificial intelligence capabilities with data infrastructure. “This partnership enables organizations to accelerate digital transformation initiatives while maintaining control of data in hybrid cloud environments,” he said.

By meeting organizations’ needs for security, scalability and flexibility, the partnership aims to stimulate cross-industry innovation and improve users’ ability to use artificial intelligence and high-performance computing.
