Netflix CEO to appear in cameo role in upcoming Apple TV+ comedy

Upcoming Seth Rogen Comedy studio Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos will make a surprise appearance. Although the series was ordered Apple TV+Logan explained to Vanity Fair As a favor, Sarandos agreed to appear in a competitor’s streaming production. Rogan called the request unlikely, but as they say, you never get anything unless you ask for it.

studio is a ten-part satirical comedy about the machinations of a movie studio trying to stay relevant; in the series, Rogen plays newly appointed studio head Matt Remick.

Rogan said his relationship with Sarandos goes back many years, when Netflix was known only as a DVD mailing company. Rogen said he didn’t actually check Apple’s approval when arranging Sarandos’ cameo:

Need some content no Get permission. “I just emailed him. I didn’t ask our Apple partners if I could do this,” Rogen said with his signature laugh. (Presumably, Apple had enough arrogance not to think that was a problem.) “I went ahead and sent him the script and said, ‘We have this joke. You actually delivered this wisdom that in some ways had Helped permeate my entire arc. He was like right away, ‘Yeah, if I can fit this into my schedule, I’d love to do it.’

The show, about a cocky executive who gradually loses control of his status as Hollywood movies’ role in the culture dwindles, is something of a meta-commentary on reality. As a result, the studio will feature guest appearances from more notable Hollywood stars, including esteemed director Martin Scorsese, Zack Snyder, Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Adam Snyder Kotter (“Severance Order”) and so on.

Regular cast members include Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz and Chase Sui Wonders. This is Rogen’s second project for Apple TV+, following the success of the 2023 comedy platonic Starring Rogen and Rose Byrne (renewed for a second season).

The first two episodes of the series will premiere exclusively on the Apple TV+ streaming service on March 28, 2025. The remainder of the season will be played on a weekly basis until May 23.
