
New Marvel Rivals Characters Will Release Much More Often Than You Might Expect
One of the impressive things about Marvel Rivals on launch day it was his huge list of heroes and supervillains. From Spider-Man to Hela, every character looked and felt great, and developer NetEase has ambitious plans to regularly expand the cast of characters. The studio aims to add two new characters in each future season, as well as updates, new maps and additional story content.
“Each season we will release fresh seasonal stories, new maps and new heroes. In fact, we will split each season into two halves,” said game director Guangyun Chen. Metro. “The duration of one season is three months. And in each half of the season we will introduce a new hero. We just want to ultimately continue to improve the experience and, you know, keep everyone interested in our community.”
The first season of Marvel Rivals, dedicated to Dracula, has started. and see the Fantastic Four added to the game. Two members of Marvel’s first family, Mister Fantastic and Susan “The Invisible Woman” Storm, are available now, with Human Torch and the Thing joining them later.

Two new heroes in a season is quite a challenge, especially compared to Marvel Rivals’ main inspiration, Overwatch. There hasn’t been a clear timetable for adding a new character to Overwatch since its release in 2014. but it is worth noting that each new hero– or villain – were teased in the game for months before release, and upon debut they were usually accompanied by an animation fleshing them out.
For Marvel Rivals, NetEase’s goal is to enhance what makes each hero or villain unique, as well as how they can interact with teammates when using the team-up feature. In case you missed it, The first big update for Marvel Rivals has recently been releasedadding several buffs and nerfs to the game.
Hela and Hawkeye’s damage has been adjusted, Storm will benefit from increased projectile speed and damage settings, and several Vanguard characters have been buffed so they can fight longer.
