New videos show off larger Nintendo Switch 2, snap-on Joy-Cons
Nintendo is still not ready to officially reveal any details about the Switch 2 (other than brief mention of backwards compatibility in November). But that didn’t stop gaming accessories manufacturer Genki from giving us one of the best looks at the size and shape of upcoming Nintendo hardware, as well as a video of how the console’s new Joy-Cons will attach to the base tablet.
Genki is reportedly using a scale 3D model of the Switch 2 to show off the console’s chassis behind closed doors at the Consumer Electronics Show. A video from French tech site Numerama shows that the 3D model is superior to the original Switch model in both length and width.

IN a more detailed description of the Genki Switch 2 layoutNumerama reports that Genki claims that its 3D model was taken from the actual Switch 2 console and not just “3D drawings.” According to Numerama, the Genki model also includes a second USB-C port on the top of the system, as well as a mysterious C button below the Home button on the right Joy-Con.
The German site Netzwelt, which I think I saw the same 3D modelcompared the size of Genki’s Switch 2 dummy with Legion Go from Lenovo and said it looked like it had an “8-inch or larger” display. Netzwelt also reports that the prototype Joy-Cons are not attached to the main unit. magneticallyand he expects that the final console may actually use a similar mechanical connection to lock the controllers in place.
