The reason why Nintendo’s announcements are firmly rooted in the present, not just the past, is that their hardware and software typically avoid early reveal whenever possible, and delays are the only reason for this. It’s a more consistent and logic-based model for Nintendo, and they’re doing this to avoid tilting the game in favor of competitors, a factor that will never go away. The pending price reduction is also more susceptible to economic factors, and factors such as current inflation and upcoming tariffs may cause Nintendo to delay or even abandon this price reduction directly.
