
Nintendo Switch 2 Leaks Ramp Up as New Patent Suggests AI Image Upscaling Tech
2025 has begun, more nintendo switch 2 leaks, although this time they’re accompanied by a new patent suggesting that the console contains exciting new technology.

Here’s what we determined: Nintendo has confirmed that the unreleased Switch 2 will be backwards compatible with original Switch games and provide Nintendo Switch Online functionality. Nintendo has also stated that it will release Switch 2 in late March 2025, which means that the launch event is coming soon. As for the release date, The console isn’t expected to launch during Nintendo’s current fiscal yearso it will not be until April 2025 at the earliest.
In September, unverified images – a mix of computer-aided design (CAD) images and printed circuit board (PCB) photos – purportedly originated from a Chinese website before spreading to Reddit, Depicts a device similar to the existing Switch consolebut with a larger screen and magnetic Joy-Cons. There’s a USB-C port on the top and bottom of the console, which you can see in the latest leaked image above.
The image comes with a purported specs list, which mentions 12GB of RAM (the original Switch has 4GB) and 256GB of internal storage (the original Switch has 32GB). There is also a new “C” button on the right Joy-Con.
