NVIDIA Releases New Mini Developer Kit for Generative AI

NVIDIA has unveiled a new home supercomputer just in time for the holidays.

The tech giant has unveiled its new Jetson Orin Nano super development kit, a powerful new platform that delivers generative artificial intelligence 70% faster than its predecessor. This compact supercomputer provides cutting-edge features and enhanced computing power to developers and enthusiasts looking to train and refine generative artificial intelligence tools, agents, and robots. Jetson Orin NX and Orin Nano users can also get higher performance through new software upgrades.

The Jetson Orin Nano Ultra Development Kit currently sells for $249.

What can the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano Super Development Kit do?

According to NVIDIA, the new development kit:

• Packaged with Jetson Orin Nano 8GB system-on-module (SoM) and reference carrier board.
• It consists of NVIDIA Ampere architecture GPU with tensor core and 6-core Arm CPU.
• The execution speed is 67 INT8 TOPS (total operations per second), which is 70% more efficient than the previous version.
• Contains 102GB/s memory bandwidth, which is 50% higher than the previous generation.
• Operating power is only 25 watts.
• Supports up to four cameras for computer vision applications.
• The price is lower ($249) than the previous kit’s $499.

In a video introducing the kit, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said the new kit “can run HGX It does,” including large language models.
