Nvidia RTX 5080 Image Leak Confirms Specifications, Ready To Launch

Less than nine hours’ drive from Official NVIDIA Keynote at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and more evidence has emerged of Nvidia’s possible release schedule and specifications for the graphics card expected to be available first, the GeForce RTX 5080.

A post on Twitter revealed the actual retail box of the GeForce RTX 5080 from partner card manufacturer Gainward, confirming various specs and that the RTX 5080 appears to be in the most advanced state of readiness of any RTX 5000 series card.

Post via Overclocking3DUser @wxnod is shown showing three retail boxes of the RTX 5080 that may be in the retailer’s warehouse and ready to ship. Previous rumors pointed to Release date January 21 for the card, and the existence of these retail boxes, presumably with cards inside, suggests that this is probably true to some extent, and also suggests that review embargoes may be even closer.

Nvidia RTX 5080 memory size and type confirmed

The box also reveals the memory type and capacity for the RTX 5080, which, as expected based on previous leaks and rumors, is 16GB of GDDR7 memory, the same as the RTX 4080 Super and RTX 4080. The RTX 5090, meanwhile, is up for an upgrade. from 24GB to 32GB, with the rest of the product suite remaining essentially the same, albeit with some minor upgrades over the original RTX 4000 series.

Unfortunately, no other specs were listed on the box, but that certainly adds weight to the rumors that the RTX 5080 will be out first, followed perhaps by the RTX 5090. The latter was also unveiled recently and is likely will cause no less concern. , if not more so, to owners of small cases like the RTX 4090.

Nvidia’s keynote will be a highly anticipated presentation for investors and gamers alike, with the former looking for signs that Nvidia’s recent stellar rise in value will continue. In the meantime, gamers will be hoping for pricing information, as well as more information on specs, availability, and what other models they plan to release later in 2025.

Power connectors, size, performance, and power consumption are all factors we don’t know much about yet, but price is probably the information most gamers want to know, with recent rumors pointing to a whopping $2,000-$2,500 for the RTX 5090 and 1200 –1500 dollars. for the RTX 5080, with the upper limit approaching the cost of the RTX 4090 at launch. However, there has been very little confirmation of these prices, so there is hope that the price increase may not be that significant.

If so, AMD and Intel’s plans to offer more cost-effective options to increase their meager market share could prove successful. AMD is expected to announce the Radeon RX 9070 XT with similar performance to the RTX 4080 but for much less money, while Intel has already made a splash with its $250 Arc B580 graphics card and is expected to announce the cheaper Arc B570 at CES. too much.
