Nvidia has launched a new development board that improves performance by 70% over the previous generation Jetson Orin Nano kit at half the price. Dubbed the Jetson Orin Nano Super, the new single-board computer promises 67 TOPS (total operations per second) for $249, while the previous motherboard delivered 40 TOPS for $499.
However, Nvidia says that users of current-generation motherboards, including the Orin Nano (non-Ultra), will also see up to 70% performance improvements after installing the new software update. For example, the Orin NX 16GB will jump from 100 TOPS to 157 TOPS, and the Orin NX 8GB will jump from 70 TOPS to 117 TOPS.

Jetson Orin Nano Super uses a six-core Arm Coretex-A78AE CPU operating at 1.7 GHz and has 8GB DRAM onboard. Its 1,020 MHz GPU has 1,024 CUDA cores and 32 Tensor cores, allowing it to deliver up to 67 TOPS (standby) or 33 TOPS (dense).
