Today’s New York Times Wire (Game #570)—Answers
Today’s answer to Wired Game #570 is…

Creatures that gross me out seemed like an obvious group category, but it turns out it’s correct, as earthworms, eels, salamanders, and slugs are all classified as slimy.
I once lived in a basement, and my roommates and I were engaged in a constant war of attrition with slugs that had somehow made their way into our dank, miserable cabin. While I’m sure this will be considered an act of cruelty by many slug enthusiasts, we try to prevent them from entering our property with table salt at all entrances, but they still manage to get into our property through our doors. We’ve all found silver marks on the floor, or worse yet, accidentally stepped on a slimy mess with our bare feet – slugs between your toes is not something you want to experience, trust me.
The solution is to wear the clogs visibly—or remove them.

What is the New York Times Link?
NYT Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games produced by The New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four items that have something in common, each with a different difficulty level: green is easy, yellow is a little hard, blue is usually very hard, and purple is usually very hard.
On the bright side, technically you don’t need to solve the last question because you can answer it by process of elimination. What’s more, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you a little breathing room.
However, it’s a bit more complex than a game like Wordle, and the game has plenty of opportunities to trip you up with tricks. For example, be on the lookout for homonyms and other wordplay that might obscure the answer.
It can be played for free via New York Times Gaming Website On desktop or mobile device.
