Introduction and Characteristics

The OnePlus 13R is a direct successor to last year’s OnePlus 12R and is a toned-down version of the flagship OnePlus 13. It retains some of the high-end features but has cut a few corners, resulting in a more reasonably priced version.

As usual, the 13R uses Qualcomm’s previous top-end chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. There are no changes in the display department, with the device featuring a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel.

However, the camera hardware suffered a bit. The OnePlus 13R now has three usable cameras, along with a 50MP 2x zoom camera in addition to a 50MP main unit and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle unit.

There’s also a noticeable upgrade in battery technology. Now it is a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 6000 mAh. This alone should extend the 13R’s battery life even further. In any case, the 12R had excellent autonomy.

The OnePlus 12R has remained fairly competitive throughout 2024, so the 13R has a lot of room to replace it. But with these updates, we see it happening.

OnePlus 13R Unboxing

The retail box of the OnePlus 13R is very modest (at least in our European specification). The package only includes a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, but no charger or protective case.

The phone supports fast charging up to 80 W using the proprietary SuperVOOC standard, so you will have to buy a charger separately.
