Pawport introduces upgraded Smart Pet Door system

Pawport announced an update Smart pet door at CES 2025. Designed to retrofit existing pet doors, the product aims to improve security and functionality. It attaches to the pet door and connects to a mobile app for remote control and smart home integration.

The company’s new model includes an optional exterior door that works in conjunction with the interior smart door to enhance security, weatherproofing and usability. The doors are made from powder coated steel and aluminum and feature double deadbolts. The updated system also includes a tamper alarm and is available in three series—Standard, Designer and Signature—for a variety of price points and design options.

The system uses a smart collar that automatically opens the door when a pet approaches, ensuring only approved pets can enter. Connected to the Pawport app, the system provides scheduling, pet-specific tracking and compatibility with Alexa, Siri and Google.

A new two-door option is available for those installing from scratch or during a renovation. This installation includes a weatherproof exterior door designed for professional installation that works in sync with the interior smart door to provide added protection against pests, intruders and weather-related issues.

The Standard Series is a budget option with durable steel and composite plastic components. The Designer and Signature Series offer enhanced materials and finishes, including scratch-resistant finishes and textured wood-look designs.

Additional features include a pet curfew, weather-based settings, activity tracking, and customizable LED lighting. Power options include rechargeable batteries, USB-C, or solar panels. The door can also operate during power outages thanks to an optional battery backup.

The Smart Pet Door starts at $499 and is expected to be available in early 2025.
