PC Building Simulator can be snagged for free on the EGS (until 14th)
If you enjoy the satisfaction of putting together a custom PC but the current market situation is holding you back, you will be able to indulge in this constructive hobby virtually (and for free) thanks to the latest Epic Games Store Giveaways. It’s a bit of a deal since games/SIMs are still on sale on Steam At the time of writing, it’s priced at £14.99.
PC Building Simulator has come a long way since its launch in 2018, offering many modern big-brand components and accessories in your virtual PC workshop. In addition to the free-to-build sandbox mode where you can use any components you want without any worries (perhaps to test build ideas), there is also a career mode available. In career mode, you run a business that builds, modifies, and repairs computers for customers—factors like hardware cost, labor, and profit need to be taken into account.
The developers have also added the ability for you to overclock and check how your virtual PC benchmarks in 3DMark, and offer add-ons in the form of PC gear sets from various premium brands, as well as for you to work as an eSports team PC technician DLC, and all that.
According to our title, you can now get PC Building Simulator for free through EGS. Be sure to do this before the freebie expires on October 14th.
Epic gaming achievements
In related news, earlier this week, Epic Games announced that its much-anticipated achievements system will be launching Launching next week. Epic is making it possible for developers to “quickly and easily” implement the system into their games, and for EGS players to earn XP.
The first batch of games for next week’s EGS Achievements Friendly Tournament will include Rocket League, Hades, Pillars of Eternity, Keena, Zombie Army 4, Alan Wake Remastered, and more. It is expected to be widely adopted in games available on EGS “later this year.”
In keeping with the above, Epic has created a new Achievement Details page where you can share and track your progress. This is useful for understanding how you’re doing with achievement badges and unlocks.
