PSA: Avoid faking your Spotify Wrapped results if you’re in Congress

apple music Better Spotify Wrapped It ranked higher than Spotify this year, but that wasn’t a problem for the congressman from New Jersey, who was caught falsifying results.

That’s what happened to U.S. Rep. Josh Gottheimer from New Jersey. “This is not surprising,” Gottheimer’s X account wrote. “Fun fact: My first concert was at the Meadowlands to see The Boss!”

But it turns out there’s an even more interesting fact! Although New Jersey native Bruce Springsteen ranks among the top five Gottheimer songs played on Spotify, screenshots showing Gottheimer’s love for The Boss fail to convince anyone.

As user X pointed out, even in the age of artificial intelligence, pulling a car online requires more sophisticated technology. this Philadelphia Inquirer explain:

Upon closer inspection, the font, spacing, and resolution in Gottheimer’s post are inconsistent compared to the legitimate Wrapped results.

When asked by NJ.com columnist Jeremy Schneider, Gottheimer admitted the results were fabricated.

“If I didn’t share my account with my 12-year-old and 15-year-old, this would be my Spotify Wrapped,” he said. “Even though I’m Springsteen all day — don’t get me wrong, I still love listening to Taylor Swift!”

Ah yes, the old man’s excuse. You know, Apple Music has a lovely Family Sharing plan! Anyway, from Typical New Jersey political corruption.
