PSA: Select Apple Stores offering personalized holiday bags this weekend

As holiday shopping continues, Apple is hosting a fun sale at Apple Stores this weekend.

In select stores in San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles and New York City, live artists will provide Apple shoppers with personalized gift bags…

Live artists will perform at these four Apple Stores on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. local time:

• Apple Union Square, San Francisco, California
• Apple Aventura in Miami, Florida
• Apple The Grove is located in Los Angeles, California
• Apple Fifth Avenue Store, New York City, New York

At these stores, Apple shoppers can choose to have gift bags custom-made by on-site artists. You can view bios of each artist below.

Apple Union Square – San Francisco

Eric Marinovich – @erikmarinovoich

• San Francisco-based lettering artist and designer Erik Marinovich is the co-founder of Friends of Type. Since 2009, he has been designing lettering, logos and typefaces for a variety of consumer brands. In 2012, he co-founded Title Case, a creative workspace that hosts workshops and lectures. Between client work, teaching, and side projects, you’ll find him traveling frequently to promote Keep Fresh Stay Rad and Let’s Go Letter Hunting, two new books from The Font Companions, published by Princeton Architectural Press.

Apple Aventura – Miami

Jackson Alves – @letterjack

• Jackson Alves is a Brazilian calligraphy and lettering artist and educator from Orlando, Florida, who has spent the past twelve years working as an alphabet specialist. Alves graduated in graphic design in 2003 and has worked with clients from different countries, demonstrating his expertise in lettering. His extraordinary achievements include receiving the 10th and 12th Biennial Graphic Design Awards in Brazil and the prestigious Certificate of Typographic Excellence from the Type Directors Club of New York City. It is worth noting that some of his works are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Calligraphy in Moscow.

Apple The Grove – Los Angeles

Katrina Centeno-Nguyen– @calligkatrina

• Calligraphy Katrina was founded in 2007 by the extremely artistic and talented Katrina Centeno-Nguyen, starting out as a humble venture. When Katrina was 19, a friend approached her to design wedding envelopes. With a modest budget of $10, she purchased a pen and a pack of envelopes to create samples for her first project. After gaining more clients, her talents caught the attention of the famous wedding blog Project Wedding. This recognition resulted in an inspiring article that showcases her natural speed, exceptional writing skills, and upbeat personality. As a result, her work has been noticed by Los Angeles’ luxury wedding industry, museums, and top fashion houses such as Vogue, Dior, Ferragamo and Chanel.

Apple Fifth Avenue – New York

Lynne Cloud – @lynneyun

• Lynne Yun is a New York City-based type designer, educator, and technology expert who founded Space Type, a studio practice that bridges the gap between type and technology. She also recently co-founded Type Electives, an online design school that is shaping the future of type.
