AMD is said to have revealed renderings of the product Radeon RX 9070 XT. video card z According to the report, AMD inadvertently showed off a reference design for the GPU, which included an undisclosed graphics card, in a Reddit ad.
The rendered RX 9070 XT reference cooler sports a black color scheme that includes multiple black shades and a triple-fan cooler design with a prominent downward-pointing glowing Radeon logo in the upper left corner of the shroud. There are grille-like patterns on both sides of the central fan, with silver decoration in the middle, forming an “X” appearance.
The design is directly inspired by AMD’s current-generation RX 7000 series reference coolers, but differs significantly in several ways. The biggest difference is in the fan and shroud architecture itself. The fans are more rounded and have a significantly smaller angle than the RX 7000 series, potentially providing higher static pressure performance. The shield has four perfectly linear sides with rounded edges. In contrast, RX 7900XTX/XT The reference cooler’s shroud was damaged by angular debris around the top and bottom of the center fan.

The triple-fan cooler design also shows the RX 9070 XT has higher potential power consumption compared to the mid-range RX 7000 variant. Its potential predecessor is RX7800XTusing a dual-fan cooler design as a reference design instead of a three-fan design. this RX7700XT The reference variant was never received. Logically, though, if that were indeed the case, the card would feature a dual-fan cooler design (given that the RX 7600 also offers a dual-fan design, albeit a much more compact one compared to the 7800 XT’s version.)
That said, AMD is apparently changing the nomenclature of its next-generation GPUs, so we can’t officially confirm whether the RX 9070 XT will be the official successor to the RX 7800 XT and/or RX 7700 XT.
There are rumors that the RX 9070 XT may be the flagship SKU of AMD’s next-generation GPU. There have been previous rumors that AMD will not make a flagship Navi 31esque successor to the RX 5000 series based on the RDNA 4 architecture. In addition to this major change, AMD is rumored to be drastically changing its nomenclature, skipping the RX 8000 series entirely and using RX 9000 Nickname It is based on RDNA 4 GPU. As you may have discovered, AMD is also rumored to be changing the way its GPUs are named, adopting the same numbering system as Nvidia (except for the “RX” and “XT” branding).
