Razer announces cheaper Iskur V2 X and “world’s first heating and cooling gaming chair”
What just happened? Gaming chairs are great for those of us who are surgically attached to a desk and barely move from the same spot for more than ten hours every day. Unfortunately, the top models are usually very expensive. But Razer announced a much cheaper version of its excellent Razer Iskur V2 at CES. The company also announced the “world’s first” heated and cooled gaming chair.
The Razer is priced at $649. Gaming chair Iskur B2 ranks among the best in its segment, including The Legend of the Noble Chairs and the almost perfect Secretlab Titan Evo.
Most people don’t really like paying a price like a high-end graphics card for a chair, even if it’s a very good one. Thus, Razer introduced Razer Iskurs V2 Xwhich is US$299, half the price of its sibling.
Several features of a more expensive chair can be found in the Razer Iskur V2 X, including high-density foam, a 152-degree adjustable backrest angle, a 299-pound weight limit, and the overall appearance.

Of course, there are reasons why the Razer Iskur V2 X is $350 cheaper. Instead of a lumbar support panel, there is a non-adjustable lumbar curve. The armrests are limited to two movements – height and rotation – which eliminates the additional forward/backward and sideways movements of the Razer Iskur V2. It also comes with multi-layer fabric material instead of EPU leather, the foam is not moldable, it uses a butterfly mechanism, and you don’t get an adjustable memory foam head pillow. It also only comes in black.
It’s hard to predict how Razer’s Iskur V2 X will compete with other gaming chairs priced around $300. However, it won’t take long: the chair is available pre order Now.
Razer also introduced the world’s first gaming chair with built-in heating and cooling. The chair, currently codenamed Project Arielle, is based on the extremely well-proven Razer Fujin Pro mesh chair.
Project Arielle features an integrated bladeless fan system that Razer says is quiet and energy efficient. It offers three fan speed levels that can “reduce perceived temperature by 2-5°C in dry conditions.”
For those in places where you find yourself freezing in chairs rather than sticking to them, Project Arielle also has a heating function that allows you to blow air at temperatures up to 30°C/86°F.
Project Arielle is one of the many concepts we see at CES every year. Not all of them end up being made into retail products, but many of them prove popular enough to warrant a sale.
