Roku rolls out new smart home features with a surprise addition

Roku TV And players are quite popular in the market. If users don’t want to use Android TV or another system, they can give users access to Roku OS as an alternative operating system. Roku recently announced new features such as a camera carousel, expanded notifications for Roku TVs, and a web view for accessing camera sources from other network devices. Now, Roku is rolling out all of these features and bringing picture-in-picture functionality to your camera footage.
Roku previously announced the following features for the Roku Smart Home:
- Camera carousel: Automatically loop every camera feed on your TV, using motion detection to show which camera is in action.
- More TV announcements: Now you’ll get alerts on your TV (and on your phone) when your camera detects pets, packages, and people. This feature requires a camera subscription.
- Roku smart home web view: Users can now conveniently monitor all camera inputs via any browser camera.roku.com.
These smart home integrations were announced earlier this fall and are now available to Roku users.
As part of our holiday update, Roku now also allows you to pin camera sources to your Roku TV screen. So when you stream best movies or great tv showyou can still follow what’s happening Take place in your home via a picture-in-picture feed.
The feature is compatible with all Roku indoor and outdoor wired cameras and can be accessed on “most” 4K Roku players and TVs (though the company hasn’t mentioned which devices).
These features sum up the Roku device’s excellent ecosystem integration capabilities, building brand loyalty in the process.
