Samsung Confirms Galaxy S25 Ultra Release Dates

Later this month, Samsung will hold its latest Galaxy Unpacked launch event, and the Samsung community will get its first look at the supposedly named Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. When will they be able to see the new phones, when will pre-orders open, and when will the new Android flagships powered by OneUI reach them?

When will the Galaxy S25 Ultra be announced?

It is widely believed that Samsung will hold a Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22. This date was first mooted thanks to leaked promotional images of the presentation in Italy. The photos (which have since been taken offline) show the date January 22, 2025.

Since then, various informants have pushed date January 22. While some have instead highlighted January 23rd, a close look at the time zones in all reports point to morning time on the American West Coast on the 22nd.

Samsung confirms Galaxy unboxing dates

Samsung has sent out invitations to its next launch event as the doors to its booth open at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. The South Korean company has confirmed that the next Galaxy Unpacked launch event will take place on January 22 in San Jose, California.

The event will unveil the next generation of Galaxy AI, which Samsung says will be a “more natural and intuitive Galaxy AI” that will “change the way Galaxy users interact with the world.”

As part of the invitation, Samsung also confirmed that the event will be broadcast via Samsung Newsroom, Samsung’s main website and Samsung’s YouTube page. Galaxy Unpacked will begin at 1:00 PM ET / 10:00 AM PT.

When will pre-orders open for the Galaxy S25 Ultra?

In previous years, the pre-order window for new Galaxy S phones opened at the end of the event, allowing those watching the live stream to register immediately. current information is that pre-orders will begin two days after the event, on Friday, January 24th, and will remain open until Tuesday, February 4th.

If Samsung follows the same pattern as previous years, there will be several offers in the pre-order window to entice consumers to sign up. These include discounts on accessories (including Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds), memory upgrades, and exclusive colors only available through Samsung’s website.

When will the Galaxy S25 Ultra go on sale?

Following the pre-order window, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, along with the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+, will go on sale on Friday, February 7th. This is in line with Samsung’s traditional two-week gap from pre-orders to release. The phones will go on sale in various regions of the world.
