Samsung Display’s 27-inch 4K QD-OLED is getting wildly popular

Last week Samsung made public Odyssey OLED G8world’s first monitor with 27″ QD-OLED display with 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate, sourced from Samsung display. On the same day, Asus and MSI announced monitors with the same display panel. Now, Alienware also jumps on the bandwagon.

Alienware Launches 27″ 4K 240Hz QD-OLED Monitor (AW2725Q)

Alienware has launched Alienware AW2725Q. It features a 27-inch QD-OLED display with 4K resolution. Since it uses the same Samsung display panel as the other monitors mentioned above, it has the same specifications as them. This includes a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.3ms response time.

The monitor supports Dolby Vision HDR and is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified. You also get Nvidia G-Sync, AMD FreeSynch Premium Pro, and VESA AdaptiveSync compatibility certifications. Alienware claims the new model covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and has Delta E<2 color accuracy.

Connectivity options include 1 DisplayPort 1.4, 2 HDMI 2.1 (one supports HDMI 2.1 FRL with eARC/ARC to support Dolby Atmos pass-through), 3 USB Type-A downstream, 1 USB Type-B upstream. and 1 USB Type-C downstream port with 15W PD.

Alienware has priced the AW2725Q at $899 in the US and $1,299 in Canada. It will be available in North America in March 2025. The company will also deliver it to Asia (March 2025), China (January 22, 2025) and EMEA (April 2025). However, the company has not announced pricing for these regions. You get a 3-year warranty.
