A few hours ago Samsung announced that the company will unveil the next flagship Galaxy S phones on January 22. The company has released a short teaser hinting at not only the Galaxy S25 but also the next generation. Bixbywhich could have a big comeback.
Galaxy S25 could be the first to get the next-gen Bixby
Besides revealing curved corners Galaxy S25 series of phones, a short teaser released by Samsung also hints at the next generation of Bixby. The upcoming version of the AI-powered digital voice assistant is based on Large Language Models (LLMs), making it much more capable of understanding natural language phrases and voice commands.
It looks like new versions Apple’s Siri And Gemini by Google in understanding complex commands and remembering the context of a conversation.
In the teaser below, a person asks Bixby: “Hey, when is the next Galaxy Unpacked coming out?” and Bixby gives the date (January 22, 2025). You can see a microphone-shaped icon, and it definitely hints at Bixby.
This upcoming version of Bixby already available in China. It was launched simultaneously with Samsung W25 and Samsung W25 Flip smartphones a few months ago. It can retrieve information about anything from the Internet. It can understand what is happening on the screen and answer questions about it.
It can tell you what clothes you should wear depending on the weather conditions. It can also get directions to the location discussed in the messages and much more.
Although Samsung released three beta versions of One UI 7.0 For the Galaxy S24 series, the new Bixby is not yet available outside of China. Samsung’s next-generation AI assistant is expected to debut in global markets along with the Galaxy S25 series. This may come to existing phones with a future software update.

Samsung may bring this new version of Bixby to other devices, including compatible microwaves, refrigerators, TVs and washing machines. Thanks to powerful new chips with on-device NPUs, Bixby could appear on more Samsung smart devices in the future.
This shows that Samsung has no plans to kill Bixby, especially as a new era of AI assistants and chatbots is dawning thanks to breakthroughs in LLM technologies.
