Apple TV+ has gained confidence over the past few years with its rich sci-fi slate, backed by an impressive slate of compelling series such as “Base”, “Invasion”, “For All Mankind”, “Hello tomorrow!“and a recent must-see effort,”silo”.
Last week, fans were excited to hear good pre-holiday news: Apple TV+ had ordered not just one, but two seasons to complete its remarkable survival saga, signaling immense confidence in the show’s future.
Now Halfway through the second season “The Silo” is adapted from the dystopian novel trilogy by author Hugh Howie and created by a prominent Hollywood writer/producer. It centers on the last vestiges of humanity living in a separate 144-story bunker 500 years later. Graham Yost (“Speed”, “Broken Arrow”, “Band of Brothers”, “The Wire”).
Its critically acclaimed cast includes Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Robbins, Coleman, Steve Zahn, Avi Nash, Chinaza Uche, Harriet Walter, Sean McRae, Tanya Moody, Remi Milner, Iain Glen, Alexander Riley, Rick Gomez and Billy Postlethwaite.
Series showrunner and executive producer Graham Yost said: “Working with our partners at Apple to adapt Hugh’s epic novel has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to continue developing it over four seasons. “With the final two chapters of The Silos, we can’t wait to give fans an incredibly satisfying conclusion to what’s inside these silos.” Contains many mysteries and unanswered questions.”
Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+ and one of the architects of the platform’s smart entertainment projects, echoed the sentiment.
