Skyblivion, the huge Oblivion remake mod in Skyrim’s engine, is now in its release year and its devs only have one region of Cyrodiil left to complete

Skybliviona large-scale modding project that remakes Elder Scrolls IV V Skyrimengine, its release is now scheduled for 2025.

Good, right? The modders behind the project certainly think so, releasing a fresh video with a progress update and roadmap just as the calendar turns to the new year.

In this video, the team confirms that as of now the mod is still on track to meet the 2025 release goal it’s had for a long time. No month or exact date has been given yet, but given the fun massive mod Aftermath: London released last year (with multiple delays it was not the fault of its developers), you can understand Skyblivion At this stage, many do not want to be completely tied to a specific date.

So, how are things going with the project? Well, when it comes to the mod’s “biggest undertaking”, there’s only one bit left to complete. “We’re finishing up the world map, with only the Nibenay region on the eastern border of Cyrodiil left to complete,” the video’s narrator says, adding: “Even though the Oblivion map is almost a third larger than the Skyrim map, we’ve worked to ensure that, of course, all the card is made to order, but with handcrafted details.”

While eight of the mod’s nine map regions were fully landscaped, the team is still working on creating navigation meshes for these areas, with the video showcasing progress in each area and highlighting some of the locations the developers have worked on. additional special tasks, such as exploring the Temple of the Lord of the Clouds.

The Skyblivion developers are also still busy with a lot of interiors and are currently “prioritizing quest locations that require more time and concept compared to regular interiors.” They’ve also completed the three Oblivion worlds you’ll be able to visit, with a video saying, “Time permitting, we’ll be adding more to diversify the list of random worlds the player can enter when closing the Oblivion Gate.”

I don’t know about you, but this sounds like something with a lot of potential for hilarious jokes. Finally, there are only six quests that the team still has to work on, so that part fits together well too. In addition, the team also mentioned adding DLC such as the Shivering Isles, saying that they will look at how this can be handled once the main mod is released.

As always, the Skyblivion modders are still looking for new volunteers with relevant skills to help with the project, and you can come here if interested.
