Stalker 2 receives first major patch, including A-Life fixes
Game world GSC released the first major patch for Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobylwhich fixed more than 1800 problems and fixes of the A-Life game.
Moreover, the game recouped its investment and made a profit, studio owner Maxim Krippa said in an interview with the publication. Forbes. Krippa also confirmed that at least two expansions and a multiplayer mode are planned, without providing any further details.
The developer notes that patch 1.1 is “huge,” so it will take some time to download. It includes A-Life fixes and AI improvements, balance adjustments, crash fixes and performance optimizations, issues with specific story missions, and more.
A-Life is a game system that provides a natural look for non-player characters. An Frequently Asked Questions from the studio says: “The A-Life 2.0 system is responsible for ensuring that the Zone lives its own life regardless of your actions. The game world around you is constantly changing. Mutants, stalkers, bandits and other residents Move around the zone, hunt, fight each other for lairs and territories, or join groups.”
Players criticized the system for feeling too scripted and not organic enough. Currently, a number of fixes have been implemented to increase the likelihood of players encountering wandering NPCs, improving NPC navigation, increasing their motivation to expand territory and actively attack, as well as other changes.
Further small AI improvements were made to both NPCs and enemies.
Elsewhere, several missions have received increased rewards, an infinite money bug has been fixed, performance in densely populated areas has been improved, and more.

“Thank you so much for your support and feedback,” the notes read. “We will continue to work on the game, listening to your comments and feedback, to investigate any potential issues and resolve them as quickly as possible.”
At launch in November Stalker 2 has been criticized for performance issues.
However, in an interview with Eurogamer General Director of GSC Game World Evgeniy Grigorovich said that delaying the release of the game is not an option..
“You’re so tired you’ll just die if you say, let’s run an extra marathon,” Grigorovich said. “We didn’t have the ability to say, ‘Let’s make this bigger.’ We just had a chance: “Let’s get as much done as we can before this point—the release date.”
Creative director Maria Grigorovich also acknowledged problems with the game at launch. “He’s not perfect, we need to fix things, he has some problems,” she said. “But this is a game! This is a game with soul, with feelings, with love. You can’t even solve problems if you don’t have a game.”
