Starting to regret picking up an Xbox Series X? This new controller will at least let you pretend you’re using a PS5 DualSense

How Microsoft is bringing more and more of its games to other platforms, you may feel some buyer’s remorse, but the new third-party Xbox series X a controller could help.

Last November, Xbox launched a new campaign with the slogan “This is Xbox“, talking about the real Xbox, your TV, phone, laptop. Essentially what it says is that you can play Xbox games anywhere, even if it’s not technically an Xbox. This makes the point of owning an Xbox console a little more complicated. controversial, so I’ll understand if you start to feel like you’d like to get your hands on PS5 instead, seeing how Sony seems to have no intention of reducing his games to anything other than PCand only two years after this fact.

Luckily, you’ll soon at least be able to help yourself feel like you’re not playing Xbox, even if you’re actually playing Xbox (I think from everything I’ve written here for Xbox, you could make a drinking game). It’s CES 2025, one of the biggest tech shows in the world, and peripheral maker Hyperkin has just announced a brand new Xbox controller. It’s called The Competitor, and you can see in the video above that it looks a little familiar.

The controller has apparently been designed to look like the PS5’s DualSense, with analog sticks placed next to each other, clear plastic buttons, and a sleek white and black design. If you just look at it, you’ll probably think it’s a DualSense! But the Xbox logo button instead of the touchpad gives away the game pretty quickly.

You can also use The Competitor (great name by the way) on PC, so if your Xbox is actually your computer, you’re sorted there! Now all we need is an Xbox-style PlayStation controller and we’re good to go.
