IN CES 2025SwitchBot has introduced two new smart home products to its extensive portfolio. The most interesting of the two announcements is SwitchBot Lock Ultra, which may be the most renter-friendly and versatile smart lock mode on the market.
Bye SwitchBot perhaps best known for its line of robotic vacuum cleaners, the brand is expanding into smart safety devices, and its latest designs smart lock seriously impressive. Dubbed “the most versatile and renter-friendly smart lock,” SwitchBot Lock Ultra offers multiple unlocking methods and is compatible with virtually any lock type.
Many people are still hesitant to use smart locks, especially those who live in rented homes. But SwitchBot has made it easier to use this technology with the new Lock Ultra. It fits on 99.9% of existing door locks, including deadbolt, mortise and Jimmy Proof locks, so you can easily add or remove it when moving in or out of your home.
For added security, SwitchBot Lock Ultra has 16 unlock methods available, including fingerprint scanning. It can store up to 100 fingerprints and has a six-layer security system to protect it from hacking or any power issues. Speaking of which, SwitchBot Lock Ultra has a triple power system that includes a rechargeable battery, a freeze-resistant battery, and a supercapacitor microelectronics.

SwitchBot’s next launch is its new video doorbell allowing more members of your family to check who is at the door, not just who has the app. The SwitchBot Video Doorbell comes with a separate 4.3-inch indoor monitor that allows you to quickly see who is at your door from inside your home, without the need for a smartphone.
The SwitchBot Video Doorbell delivers impressive video quality, including 2K Ultra-HD resolution, AI motion detection, 165-degree wide viewing angle, and AI motion detection. It also has a built-in 100dB buzzer, 20-month battery life, and two power modes to choose from.
It has not yet been announced when the new SwitchBot Lock Ultra or Video Doorbell will be available, but we hope it will be later in 2025.
