T-Mobile’s Hulu perk reportedly coming to more plans — with a catch

long story short
- T-Mobile is adding Hulu (with ads) to more plans, not just Go5G Next.
- The catch is that your account must originally offer Netflix Standard to be eligible.
- While the perks are great, there’s no way to upgrade to the Disney+ bundle or add-on plan.
Hulu originally launched as a one-time perk on T-Mobile’s old Go5G Next plan, replacing Netflix Standard’s compensation for switching to an ad-based tier. Customers were given a code redeemable for one year free. Earlier this month, we learned T-Mobile’s Hulu benefits are coming to some changessome of which are not necessarily positive. At the time, it seemed like this benefit was still limited to the Go5G Next plan, but that doesn’t appear to be the case anymore.
according to Reddit user Covette_77T-Mobile will offer Hulu for free (with ads) on an add-on plan starting January 7. While this sounds like good news, there’s a catch. This benefit will only be automatically added to the plans of customers who have Netflix Standard before January 2024, with billing conveniently managed through the T-Mobile app. However, customers who signed up this year and have a plan that includes Netflix (with ads) will not be eligible.
Like Go5G Next customers, this Hulu benefit cannot be upgraded to the Disney Bundle or ad-free plan. It’s a take-it-or-leave-it deal — either you take what T-Mobile offers or pay for a higher tier yourself.
T-Mobile has not officially confirmed these changes to its Hulu benefits. We’ve reached out for comment and will update this article as more details emerge. Regardless, the original poster is a well-known figure in the T-Mobile subbreddit and has a good track record. Still, it’s at least possible that there will be some other changes or surprises ahead of the official launch.
