  • The fourth generation display delivers sharper images, more accurate colors and two modes for enhanced eye comfort.
  • NXTPAPER 11 Plus will be the company’s first device to use NXTPAPER 4.0.

CES 2025 is here and there’s already a flood of announcements from HDMI 2.2 LG wireless OLED TV. But today’s news is far from over. Don’t miss it, TCL also made some big announcements about its next-generation NXTPAPER display and the first device to take advantage of the technology.

TCL today introduced the fourth generation of its NXTPAPER display technology. If you’re not familiar with NXTPAPER, what makes this technology different is that it has a smooth yet textured display, much like paper. Unlike other screens, this display does not show fingerprints, works well in bright light, and is easy on the eyes. However, it is not perfect as previous versions had problems such as the color being too dull, faded colors and lack of deep blacks due to the LCD technology.

However, NXTPAPER 4.0 appears to make some important improvements in these areas. TCL says its latest display uses advanced nano-array lithography technology to improve image clarity and clarity. The screen is also said to have ΔE<1 true color accuracy and 100% sRGB color gamut coverage for more accurate color reproduction.

Which device will be the first to use the new display technology?

TCL has announced that the first device to receive NXTPAPER 4.0 will be the NXTPAPER 11 Plus. This Android tablet has an 11.5-inch display with 2.2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, compatible with the T-Pen stylus. It has a brightness of 550 nits, making it easier to see when you’re outdoors. The company has also added two eye comfort settings: Eye Comfort Mode and Personalized Eye Comfort Mode. The first uses artificial intelligence to adjust screen settings based on usage scenarios, such as whether you’re reading or watching videos. The latter allows the user to adjust color, brightness, contrast and other visual parameters.

Talking about artificial intelligence, this tablet will come with Google Circle to Search feature. You can also count on a rewriting, translation and summarization tool called Text Assist. Meanwhile, Write Assist will help users write emails or plan events. There’s also a Smart Translator feature that can translate text, voice, and images, as well as a Smart Memo feature that transcribes and summarizes recordings.

Another interesting detail: the NXTPAPER key has been updated and is now customizable. Users will be able to use single, double or long press to perform various functions, not just toggling Max Ink mode on or off.

At the time of announcement, TCL did not disclose pricing or availability information for the NXTPAPER 11 Plus. So we will have to wait a little longer to know more about this tablet.
