Tech unemployment in the US drops to lowest level in more than two years – Computerworld

Kai Mitchell, head of Experis North America, ManpowerGroup’s tech recruiting company, said demand among tech employers increased in December, especially due to the “gig economy.” Uber led the growth in such job openings, increasing its number of openings by 4,150%, while Outlier Inc., a platform that brings together experts to advance generative artificial intelligence, saw demand increase by 342%.

“This trend was also evident in the temporary jobs market, where demand for computer and information technology researchers soared 2,000% as organizations focused on developing artificial intelligence and machine learning, increasingly relying on temporary workers,” said Mitchell.

There were 434,415 active tech jobs in December, including 165,189 new ones (both down from November). According to CompTIA, the greatest activity was observed in the areas of software development, IT project management, cybersecurity, data analytics and technical support.
