this The Game Awards 2024 (December 12) is one of the best in years, mixing plenty of surprises with welcome updates to the video games we’ve been wondering about. It also means learning more about Upcoming space games We’re blown away by the new revelations, which make our sci-fi loving hearts very, very happy. These are the projects you should keep an eye on in 2025 and beyond.
In addition to new game releases and new looks at ongoing projects, we also got updates on Mecha breakthrough Ahead of a spring 2025 release (a mecha-based online action game with a pretty solid beta) – and Hellraiser 2The long-awaited third enemy faction and a new batch of content (all free) just dropped from Shadow when the tow truck arrives. Democracy isn’t going to spread throughout the universe, so get to work.
“Star: Heretic Prophet” (Naughty Dog)
Naughty Dog’s return to sci-fi marked the end of the ceremony and was arguably one of the biggest reveals of the night. After being trapped in the universes of The Last of Us and Uncharted for nearly two decades, a new IP enters the conversation (after four years of development). Unfortunately, no release window has been revealed.
this Interstellar: Prophet of Heresy The story is about a “dangerous bounty hunter” named Jordan A. Mun. Basic pitch? She ends up trapped on the remote and mysterious planet Semperia, a world where “communication with the outside universe was interrupted hundreds of years ago.”
“Project: Robot” (genDESIGN)
If you were wondering about Fumito Ueda (Ico, Shadow of the Colossus) and his team, who have been absent since 2016’s The Last Guardian, we received an interesting answer last night. We’ve all seen an evocative trailer depicting a cloaked figure climbing what looks like a mecha as some kind of natural disaster approaches a barren world.
We don’t know yet, but we’re all excited to learn more about what’s coming next from one of gaming’s greatest minds. The game also has no release window. In fact, Project: Robot is just a placeholder title, so don’t expect this one to be released anytime soon.
Turok: Origins (Saber Interactive)
While Nightdive Studios’ remasters of the OG trilogy are great, Turok has been in a weird position for a long time when it comes to acquiring new titles. You may remember the 2008 reboot, which was quite successful at the time but failed to spawn a new legend. A third-person shooter from Universal Pictures and Saber Interactive is out of the blue, and it looks pretty fun.
The game is described as a cooperative adventure that can also be played solo and features “advanced weapons” and “the ability to evolve your suit.” It’s another complete reboot for Canon (or so it seems). After such a long absence, this might be just what the team needs. There are dinosaurs to fight, and alien invasion Looming on the horizon. What else do you need at this stage? After Saber’s great work, we’re willing to bet on this Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Expected to arrive in 2025.
“The Outer Worlds 2” (Obsidian Entertainment)
We haven’t heard anything about a follow-up to 2019’s first-person role-playing game The Outer Worlds since it was announced back in 2021. Well, we have some good news for you! The Game Awards gave us our second look at the game through actual gameplay, and it was even promised a 2025 release.
It looks very fun, colorful and exciting. However, there are currently no details about the crew that will accompany us on this interstellar journey. Despite superficial similarities, this is not a duplication starry skyformula, but it might be a good choice for those looking for something more focused on deeper role-playing.
Borderlands 4 (Gearbox Software)
terrible after borderland moviefans are eager for news on the fourth installment of the long-running “robbery shooter” Borderlands game series Come and wash away the bad smell.
While the initial CG introduction had a slightly different visual style, actual gameplay footage shows that the Borderlands game looks entirely Borderlands-esque. Note that the new Vault Hunters don’t exactly wow with their designs, but we haven’t even seen them yet; a lot could change between now and an unspecified 2025 release date.
“Iron Hunter” (Wargaming Group)
After a brief CG introduction, the explosive trailer for Iron Hunter was introduced. Alpha testing has reportedly been underway for some time, but not much has been publicly disclosed. Now we know it will be a free-to-play PvPvE shooter with what looks to be fast-paced, heavy-hitting mega-mech combat.
this The official Steam page of Iron Hunter Six “two-person teams” allegedly faced off while trying to evacuate a “hunting ground” on a “green but abandoned Earth.” The sci-fi setting alone looks enticing, and those mecha designs look great and varied. If Wargaming takes this project as seriously as World of Warships and Tanks, we might be looking at another entry in World of Warships and Tanks. The best mecha game ever list.
