One aspect of this release is a new “Return to Safety” feature designed to simplify device recovery without the drastic step of a full reset.
Previously, restoring a Chromebook to a stable state often required a Powerwash, erasing everything in the process. in new version Chrome OSusers can choose “Safe Reset” as a non-destructive troubleshooting method. This feature resets Chrome settings and shortcuts, disables extensions, and clears cookies and temporary data while keeping your bookmarks, history, and stored passwords intact.

The update also introduces flash notifications, which flash the entire screen to alert you of incoming notifications. This feature is especially useful for people who are hard of hearing or who spend time zooming in to prevent them from seeing pop-ups in the corners of the screen.
On the UI front, the update will bring a new look to Quick Answers—an AI-powered assistant that provides insights into web pages and PDFs. The updated style is designed to make summary, outline, and Q&A features easier to use.
