The mother of all Nintendo Switch 2 leaks just dropped
Genki has published our most plausible and extensive look yet at Nintendo Switch 2 more. The accessory maker has quietly launched a new page on its website promoting its Switch 2 product, showing what Nintendo’s next console will supposedly look like through a compelling mockup.
News about the Nintendo Switch 2 has been heating up in recent weeks as parts of it supposedly leaked through photos of the production line and accessory manufacturers. We got an idea of a possible dock and redesigned the Joy-cons, but still only saw blurry images of the console itself. Genki may have just spilled the beans, giving players a pretty good idea of what the system could be like.

According to NumeramaReport from CES 2025, Genki shows off a Switch 2 mockup on the show floor. While it’s not an official console, it’s a realistic replica that looks like a larger Switch. There are a few differences, such as a mysterious new button below the Home button, but the main change is the console. rumored magnetic Joy-cons. In the video, we see someone easily remove the Joy-con by pressing the trigger.
Shortly after this started spreading, users discovered a Nintendo Switch 2 page on Genka website. While it currently acts simply as a notification sign-up page, it does include a video of the accessories in action on the device. We take a closer look at the Joy-con release triggers, the dock (with the Switch 2 logo), and more. Notably, some of the text on the page changed overnight. It originally contained direct references to the Switch 2 and Nintendo. It has since been changed to clear both, now simply vaguely calling the system “the next laptop”.

The clips shown match previous leaks. The biggest coincidence is the Joy-cons, which appear to have optical sensors similar to those found in a computer mouse. They’re also vibrantly colored, with internal guides matching the colors of the original Switch Joy-con controllers.
According to NumeramaGenki claims that the console will be released in April.
How reliable is all this? Any leak of this nature should always make you skeptical (this isn’t the first time an equipment company has fake Switch 2 leak at CES), but at this point the pieces are starting to come together. Features such as magnetic Joy-cons, an optical sensor, and an additional face button have been shown off by separate sources so far. However, this will just be a mock-up of the console and not the real thing. Even if it’s realistic, we still won’t know exactly what the final design will look like until Nintendo reveals it. Expect this to happen soon, given how quickly leaks are happening.
