Hello, development community!
Are you serious about your career? The only shortcut to becoming a Cloud/DevOps engineer: roll up your sleeves and get down to business.
Let’s be honest: there are no tips, tricks, or “fake it until you make it” when it comes to building a solid Cloud/DevOps engineering career.
Taking shortcuts will not speed up your journey, it will only lead to frustration and wasted energy. Here’s why:
🌱 Growth takes time and consistency
Just like planting a garden, you can’t expect a harvest without putting in the effort. Certifications, tools, and projects are meaningless unless you take the time to truly understand them.
📚 The process is the method
It’s not glamorous, but it’s about showing up every day, learning step-by-step, and applying those skills to real-life scenarios, building expertise. It’s not about instant results, it’s about building a lasting foundation.
💡 What works?
- Learn through practical projects. (Be passionate about making it unique, not just copy and paste)
- Get guidance from those who have walked this path before you.
- Commit to growing, even if it’s slow.
The journey has not been easy, but it has been worth it. Every hour you spend studying and practicing today will build the confidence, skills, and opportunities you need to survive tomorrow.
So here are my suggestions:
Don’t believe in the idea of shortcuts. Enrich yourself with real knowledge and experience. Trust the process and success will follow. 2025 is waiting for you!
Get certified > Don’t have a job? > Reasons why you didn’t work on building your portfolio > Interview rejected > Reason; unable to talk about any projects/experiences/challenges/solutions etc > All you did was give technical Google definitions = rejection
