The reason Samsung fonts don’t work in all apps in One UI 7
Robert Triggs/Android Authority
long story short
- The One UI 7 beta 2 version will not force all apps to use Samsung fonts.
- The reason is that Android allows application developers to override the system’s default fonts.
- This is a feature that helps with app design, and is unlikely to change anytime soon.
along with One UI 7 beta 2 The update is currently being rolled out and some users may want to see Samsung fonts populate their apps. In an ideal world, Samsung would probably like this too. But that didn’t happen because Android related.
as Sami Master Helpfully explains that this is not a decision made by Samsung. The open design nature of Android gives third-party app developers complete control over the fonts used in their apps. They can choose to adopt the system default if they select or override it and use a font that is more suitable for the application.
It’s an understandable approach – developers pour into every little detail of the app’s design. Allowing Samsung to force its own fonts in these apps might look jarring and even cause issues with the app interface. Unless Google decides to revamp Android’s framework, this inconsistency isn’t likely to change anytime soon.
This means that if you set the One UI font system-wide, you will see it in the operating system interface and Samsung apps, but only in third-party apps that do not override the default. If you are not satisfied with this, you must appeal to Google.
According to reports, One UI 7 beta 2 is now available in countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and South Korea. A stable version will be released sometime in the new year.
