This Could Be the OnePlus Open 2

The original OnePlus Open launched in late 2023 and we tried it, Give a very positive review. In fact, in 2023, it’s my personal favorite foldable device and still appeals to me today. OnePlus has really mastered the software, used a great camera, and made sure the display is as good as anyone’s ever used. But for unknown reasons, they canceled “2024” and did not release a follow-up work.

As 2025 approaches, rumors are starting to grow suggesting we might be getting one one plus open 2 Sometime soon. The new renders of the device are reportedly based on “late-stage prototypes.”

Rumors included in the renders claim that the device has been updated from a design perspective, although it still looks a lot like the original Open. However, it is said to be larger but thinner at 10mm thick. It could have IPX8 water resistance, which would be a big improvement over the first Open model.

That’s basically all we know from these renders. We can see what the device will look like, but nothing else has been shared. Again, the device looks the same as the previous model, just without the faux leather back. Cameras and flashes are placed similarly. The buttons match, and so does the built-in camera. It looks like OnePlus Open…

As for the rest of this story, rumors suggest that the OnePlus Open 2 could launch in early 2025 with a bigger battery and Android 15 out of the box. Knowing that the OnePlus 13 is launching globally soon, I don’t expect the Open 2 to be available in North America anytime soon.
