This New Xbox Controller Looks Exactly Like a PS5 Pad
You won’t be surprised to learn that we’ve always erred on the side of the fence with symmetrical sticks, and while we won’t judge anyone for preferring asymmetrical sticks, we can confirm that there is a special place in hell reserved just for you.
But seriously, since PlayStation is the clear market leader, this DualSense-style tablet for Xbox makes a ton of sense.
As part of the competition, a competitor from the manufacturer Hyperkin was announced. CES 2025and it’s a wired pad designed for high-level playing. The analogue sticks used have Hall effect, which are more durable and accurate than traditional sticks. The triggers also use the same technology to improve accuracy.
Obviously, the controller lacks the DualSense’s louder features, so don’t expect haptic feedback or adaptive triggers here. But it does have two programmable back buttons, a feature we’ve seen in professional tablets like the DualSense Edge.
There’s no word yet on the controller’s price or release date, but its clear similarities to the PS5 controller make it worth mentioning. It’s worth noting that this tablet will also be compatible with PC games, so you won’t be locked into an Xbox if you decide to get one.
The device will be on display at CES 2025 for attendees to try out, so we’re sure there will be plenty of hands-on reports to surface in the coming days.
